FAQS

You’ve Got Questions. We’ve Got Answers

COVID-19 UPDATE AND HOW IT IMPACTS YOU

Our goal is to keep our students, staff, and community safe. All our staff have had at least two doses of COVID-!9 vaccine. Our trapeze rig is located outdoors in the fresh air where there is lower COVID-19 transmission risk. Our staff will ask participants to sanitize their hands upon entry to our site.  During the course of a class, if your hands come into contact with any bodily secretions, please remember to sanitize! Participants may bring their own chalk bag if desired.

WHO CAN LEARN TO FLY?

Anyone with a positive attitude and a sense of adventure can try Flying Trapeze! We require that all participants be over the age of 6 years.  We also have recommendations for our flyers regarding weight limits - if you are greater than 225 pounds, please contact us before you register so that we can assess that you can safely fly with us.

DO I NEED TO BE STRONG?

No. By taking advantage of the timing involved with Flying Trapeze, first time flyers can learn several basic tricks without much upper body strength. We teach people how to use the momentum of the swing, rather than strength, to be successful. If you can successfully hang from a bar with your arms straight, you have the strength needed to participate in Flying Trapeze.

ARE THERE ANY OTHER RESTRICTIONS?

If you are under the influence of drugs or alcohol, you will not be allowed to go on the trapeze.
If you are pregnant, or think you might be pregnant, Flying Trapeze is not for you.
If you have back, neck or shoulder injuries or have had surgery on these areas you should not go on the trapeze.
As with any exercise you are advised to check with your doctor if you are uncertain about your capabilities.

WHAT SHOULD I WEAR?

We suggest a similar outfit that you would wear to the gym such as leggings or sweatpants and a tighter fitting top (nothing too loose or baggy).  Please, no jeans!  You will not wear shoes on the trapeze, go barefoot or socks can be worn.  Long hair should be pulled into a ponytail.  Leave your jewelry at home, especially your rings.  Glasses must be taken off before you go on the trapeze, so wear contact lenses if necessary.  No sunscreen is allowed on your bare arms or legs (okay on your face, but make sure your hands are clear of sunscreen after application).  Since we are located outside, it’s always important to factor in the weather when you are dressing for your class.  Layer up!

HOW HIGH IS THE TRAPEZE?

The board is 25 feet off the ground, but only 16 feet above the net.

DO I HAVE TO SIGN A WAIVER

ALL participants must read, fill out and sign our liability waiver.  If a participant is under 18 years of age, the Waiver must be signed by a parent or the legal guardian.  Please complete our Electronic Waiver ahead of your arrival to the trapeze site.

CAN MY FRIENDS AND FAMILY WATCH?

Friends and family are more than welcome to come and watch you on the trapeze.  Don’t forget a camera to take pictures and we invite you to post them on Instagram or on our Facebook page!

WHAT IS YOUR CANCELLATION POLICY?

  1. All purchases are valid for the current season only.

  2. Private Group Flying Trapeze Class Booking: Rescheduling requests must be made at minimum 7 days from the event date. For weather related cancellation, we will do our best to reschedule your event;  should this not be possible,  you will receive a full refund.

  3. Late Cancellation or No Show: Participants will not be rescheduled for a  “Late Cancellation” (less than 48 hours from class time) or “No Show”.

WHAT IF THE WEATHER CAUSES A CLASS TO BE CANCELLED?

The trapeze rig is located outdoors, and therefore weather factors may affect its safe operation.  We always do our best to teach the class as long as we can do it safely.  High winds, lightning, and rainstorms may result in unexpected cancellation of classes or events on short notice.  The moment we know the class will be cancelled, you will be contacted.   You will also be given the option to reschedule to another class time.
